FAQs about The NEXTGen Accelerator

All levels of experience are welcome. We have folks brand new to real estate and those who already owned rentals. Since this is an accelerator and TONS of information, some choose to start with Building An Empire and join NEXTGen more confident to hit the ground running.

NEXTGen is a virtual, extremely flexible group coaching program (not webinar) for our NEXTGen family all over the country. The curriculum is full of videos, workbooks, and worksheets which is online. There is also the weekly coaching sessions (Wednesdays at 8pm) and a private Facebook group.

We occasionally host NEXTGen-only events, and NEXTGen is always a VIP guest at our Mobilize Baltimore meetups!

We cover everything from mindset to analyzing deals to funding to rehab…nothing is off limits!

Technically, it’s a 10-week program. However, access to the Facebook group and the weekly sessions can continue. At this time, we have not removed anyone’s access; however, that will likely shift in 2020. We have folks who still join every session after over a year!

We have a weekly group coaching session to answer questions regarding the curriculum or discuss current deals. The sessions are each Wednesday at 8pm.

Absolutely! Spouses are more than welcome. We love working with other couples to develop their goals to build wealth and legacy through real estate together.

You’ll be able to contact me (Kyara) directly through email, the FB group, IG, or you will have access to schedule time on my calendar to speak directly.

We can’t make guarantees. Making the decision and taking the action to buy property will be your responsibility. Unfortunately, we can’t do the work or invest the funds for you. But, we will support you through the process. OUR goal is that NEXTGen participants purchase an investment within 6 months of the accelerator. However, each person’s situations and goals are different.

We discuss Baltimore specifically but we share strategies, tips, and resources that can be leveraged anywhere. We just think Baltimore is the best spot! We have NEXTGen fam all over the country in NY, Cali, FL, VA, DC, & AZ.

NEXTGen is a family. You will continue to have access to us and the team through the FB group where us & other NEXTGen post almost daily.

As of now, we do not change any level of access to us and the team after the 10 weeks. That is subject to change in 2020. However, you will continue to have access through the private FB at the very least. The only reason we are considering making a change is because the group has grown so much that we want to make sure everyone receives the attention they need!

Hear from some of our NEXTGen family!

  • It’s Black History Month✊🏾 and we’re making history, HER STORY.

One question I’m always asked is “what is it like being a black woman in real estate?” TBH, you’ll have to click on the bio and watch our latest episode to know😝. Just know Khalil and I pride ourselves on being landlords with a conscious. We aren’t just managing rentals—we do way more for our tenants than make sure their space is nice.

- Why I don’t allow #impostorsyndrome to win
- How to be the investor possible

  • I already know folk are gonna be mad but let's have a discussion... Language is important

To gentrify means to renovate to middle class standards.

All communities DESERVE access to quality jobs, healthy food, safe & quality housing and to be surrounded by beauty and opportunity rather than vacants & abandoned buildings.

If we use gentrification as a negative, we are saying that progress is negative.

What IS negative is displacement, development without resident input & collaboration, lack of education on protecting residents from the impact of rising home values, narrow strategy that ignores the need for affordable housing...again, language is important. If we're pointing out the wrong culprit, how can we combat the right issues?

We MUST see the value and opportunity in our neighborhood FIRST and have ownership ALWAYS!

Through education, by returning to the 'hood to live, share and impact, by BUYING BACK OUR BLOCKS!

Get involved. Join the community association. Join city council & other political positions. Join local nonprofit boards.

Get your seat at the table so those "middle class standards" are defined by those who are focused on the well-being of current and future residents.
